Why we started Meetinglabs

A few years ago, we were deep into scaling our previous company’s EMEA expansion, outgrowing WeWork offices, launching new teams in London, Paris, and Düsseldorf and then the world changed. The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to build and manage a distributed team across Europe while juggling time zones with our U.S. colleagues. At the same time, we had, just acquired our largest competitor.
It was an intense period of chaotic hypergrowth, navigating new markets and cultures, adding management layers, and trying to stay aligned. What started as an effort to stay connected quickly spiraled out of control. Endless meetings, overbooked calendars and little time for real work. The habits formed during that time—over-inviting, unclear outcomes, and back-to-back calls—became the norm, persisting long after the world returned to the office. We saw firsthand how bad meeting culture takes root and how difficult it is to break free.
That’s why we started Meetinglabs.
Meetings Should Drive Progress—Not Waste Time
Meetings are the backbone of collaboration, decision-making, and innovation. Yet, they’ve become a burden—inefficient, excessive, and often lacking clear purpose. Instead of empowering teams, they drain productivity and frustrate employees.
The numbers tell the story:
Executives spend up to 23 hours per week in meetings.
71% of meetings are considered unproductive.
The cost? Wasted time, lost momentum, and disengaged employees
When we spoke with leaders across industries, the pain points were universal:
Too many meetings with unclear objectives.
Lack of follow-through, leading to repeated discussions.
No data-driven insights to improve meeting efficiency.
Technology hasn’t solved the problem—it has, in many ways, made it worse. So we asked ourselves: How can we help teams take control of their meeting culture?
Fewer, Better, More Impactful Meetings
Meetinglabs was founded on a simple idea: Better meetings lead to better business outcomes. Our mission is to help organizations take control of their time using data-driven insights to improve execution.
We believe in:
✅ Quality over quantity. The right meetings, with the right people, for the right reasons. Every minute matters.
✅ Data, not guesswork. Meetings are like any other business process—they can be measured, optimized, and improved.
✅ A smarter approach to work. The future of work demands a new way to manage time—one designed to address the whole workplace for remote and hybrid collaboration.
At Meetinglabs, we’re committed to helping teams reclaim their time and work smarter. Let’s fix meetings together.
